Plan now for mid-season pruning of roses

Summer temperatures and humidity have been all over the map, varying from week to week, never lasting too long. My roses have done quite well using my prescribed "desert practice" for the summer. If you are participating in this practice – allowing a summer of rest for your roses – you still have several weeks to take it easy before a mid-season pruning.
