Mark Elvin promoted to Undersheriff for County of San Diego

San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore announced today, Fri., Sept. 18, the promotion of Mark Elvin from Assistant Sheriff – Law Enforcement Services – to Undersheriff. Elvin will replace retiring Undersheriff Ed Prendergast.

Undersheriff Elvin was hired by the Sheriff's Department in 1989, and he has worked in the Detentions and Law Enforcement Bureaus, as well as in the Training Division.

In 1999, Undersheriff Elvin was promoted to Sergeant and worked at the Las Colinas and Vista Detention Facilities. He served at the North Coastal and San Marcos Stations and in the Internal Affairs Unit. In 200...
