CAMP PENDLETON - Military firefighters are on the scene of a brush fire that started yesterday, Fri., Nov. 6, on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.
The blaze broke out in the Whisky Impact Area in the northern portion of the sprawling military installation.
Fire crews received air support today from HMLA-169, a Marine helicopter squadron, but are only monitoring the fire, Sgt. Kevin Maynard said.
The fire covers about 60 acres and poses no threat to people or property, according to Maynard.
There is still not word on how contained the fire is....
