OUTLOOK 2016: Paramedic calls up 13 percent; grant to provide more staffing

The events of 2015, namely the closure of Fallbrook Hospital, will prove to have significantly influenced 2016 for North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD).

Over the last year, we have experienced a 13 percent increase in calls for paramedic services over the previous year. While the district has been able to cover the vast majority of these calls for service, we have had to rely upon ambulances from surrounding agencies to cover some of them since our turn-around time from the surrounding hospitals has nearly doubled.
