OF THIS WORLD? The Jerusalem Cricket is one eerie-looking creature

I will never forget the first time I saw a Jerusalem Cricket. It was about two feet away from a water faucet in my front yard and I was so stunned at the appearance of this creature (that had to be from outer space) that I quickly sprang backwards, almost jumping out of my shoes.

Obviously the Jerusalem Cricket can't help how it looks, but it is, in my opinion, so odd and nightmarish that I feel torn whether to avert my eyes from it immediately or stare at it in sick intrigue.

Experts agree that Jerusalem Crickets are indeed eerie-looking creatures, but advise they are not hazardous to humans....
