Fire hydrant taken out by hit and run driver

At approximately 12:35 p.m. today (Friday, Jan. 15), a hit and run driver took out the fire hydrant on the southwest corner of Ammunition and S. Mission roads, across from Starbucks. A crew from Fallbrook Public Utility District (FPUD) was at the scene and shut the water off within 20 minutes of being notified of the accident, according to FPUD public affairs specialist Noelle Denke.
