Reche Road reopens following collision between two vehicles

Authorities are working on reopening Reche Road (2:40 p.m.) following a collision between two vehicles on the roadway between Carriage Lane and Gird Road.

An emergency call went out at about 1:40 p.m. today, Thurs., April 7, reporting a head-on collision at the site, involving a white Honda Civic and a black Toyota Tundra pickup.

"It wasn't exactly a head-on collision, but close to being one," said North County Fire public information officer John Buchanan, who said the driver of the Honda Civic lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the opposing lane, and struck the Tundra pickup.
