WEATHER UPDATE: Series of three storms to bring rain, lightning, colder temps through Monday

SAN DIEGO COUNTY - A flash flood watch was issued by the National Weather Service this afternoon (Sat., April 9) was scheduled to go into effect beginning at 8 p.m. and lasting until tomorrow morning.

The warning was issued for San Diego coastal areas and inland valleys after a Pacific storm was seen on weather radar screens forming off the coast, according to the NWS.

Heavy rain, lightning and cold temperatures were expected throughout San Diego County by later tonight.
