FALLBROOK − This month, the Sheriff's Department will crack down on people who don't wear their seat belts.
The nationwide Click It or Ticket campaign will run from May 23 to June 5.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), nearly half of the 21,022 passenger vehicle occupants killed in crashes in 2014 weren't wearing their seat belts.
"I want to remind everyone to buckle up before driving," said Sheriff Bill Gore. "Not only is it the law, but those seconds it takes to put on your seat belt could save your life."
