FALLBROOK – Fallbrook High School girls, sophomores and juniors, learned about PEO, its philanthropies and Cottey College on May 25. PEO members Sharon Koehler, Dorothy Hartford, Betsy Bucher, Gayle Hoxter, and Sheila Risser spoke about the many scholarships and grants available to eligible high school girls who apply for and are selected as recipients.
Eight young women attended this presentation and had lunch with these ladies who represent the five chapters in Fallbrook. This opportunity was presented in the Career Center and arranged by Mr. Morrow, Mrs. Cain, Mrs. Fellios, and the PEO representatives.
PEO is an international philanthropic educational organization concerned with women’s education. It has been in existence since 1869. Fallbrook has a number of women who attended Cottey College, located in Nevada, Mo.
