FALLBROOK – Kicking of the 2016 Memorial Day weekend at the Pala Mesa Golf Resort, the Second Annual Weichert, Realtors – Murphy & Murphy Charity Golf Tournament Benefiting the Fallbrook Food Pantry is in the books. Golfers and sponsors from all across Southern California participated.
This year the Wounded Warriors Foundation sent 28 golfers to participate in the Friday Memorial Day weekend event. Businesses and individuals sponsored the Wounded Warrior golfers for the day of golf and dinner.
This year's event was also recognized by the Randy Jones Foundation as a serious 501C3 charity event, giving back to the community of Fallbrook. The top three winning teams are automatically invited to participate in Fourth Annual Randy Jones Invitational Golf Tournament, presented by EDCO.
Fallbrook's tournament golfers will have the opportunity to play to win individual trophies, their name on the perpetual trophy displayed at the San Diego Hall of Champions, a dream Pebble Beach Golf Escape, and best of all – a $10,000 donation to the first place team’s charity, the Fallbrook Food Pantry. In addition, this year a $2,500 donation will be made to the second place team’s charity and $1,000 to the third place team’s charity.
"This recognition is sure to grow the future tournament involvement for years to come," said Chris Murphy.
"Our goal is to give back to Fallbrook and to those less fortunate by supporting the Fallbrook Food Pantry," said Kim Murphy.
Next year's Third Annual Weichert, Realtors - Murphy & Murphy Charity Golf Tournament Benefiting the Fallbrook Food Pantry will be held at the Pala Mesa Resort Friday, May 26, 2017. All are asked to save the date.
