Film on Soviet hockey team to be shown

OCEANSIDE – On Sunday, August 7, the North County Film Club will be presenting the feature documentary “Red Army." The film is about the most successful dynasty in sports history, the Soviet Union’s hockey team.

Told from the perspective of its captain, the story documents his transformation from hero to enemy. The film examines how sport mirrors social and cultural movements and parallels the rise and fall of the Red Army team with the Soviet Union.
