FALLBROOK – Will Shakespeare, chairman of Fallbrook Land Conservancy (FLC), will speak at the Fallbrook Library, 124 S. Mission Rd. on Wednesday, Feb. 15 starting at 6:30 p.m. His talk is presented by the Fallbrook Climate Action Team.
This free presentation will explore how the FLC acquires and manages preserves and conservation easements, working with landowners, developers, Camp Pendleton and other government agencies.
The talk will cover how the protection of adequate open space and wildlife habitat preserves clean air and water, its importance to local farms and ranches, and the San Diego County Climate Action Plan under development. Working on collaboration with the community and other groups and agencies to preserve open lands is one of the hallmarks of the FLC.
Shakespeare has been involved in environmental interests dating back to the 60’s and 70’s when he taught the Sierra Club’s Basic Mountaineering Training Course in Los Angeles. He is a graduate of the San Diego County Citizens Water Academy, a SDG&E natural gas pipeline coalition chair, and an energy broker.
