The southbound 15 Freeway was snarled with traffic through Rainbow Sunday afternoon after a vehicle caught fire.
Around 3 p.m., the engine of a 2015 Mercedes traveling south on the freeway caught fire and the vehicle was forced to pull over to the right shoulder, said CHP officer Mike Lassig.
The vehicle became engulfed in flames shortly thereafter, and the fire spread to some nearby brush, Lassig said.
Fire crews called to the scene were able to extinguish the fire, and as of 5 p.m. the affected area was being cleaned up.
No injuries were reported.
