Carli Lloyd of the U.S. Women's National Team celebrates a victory. Lloyd, a native of Bonsall, was the captain of the 2017 team.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Setter Carli Lloyd took on an expanded leadership role with the U.S. Women's National Team as its captain in 2017, and that did not hinder the 2016 Olympic bronze medalist from delivering success on the court. In the process, she helped a young and dynamic squad grow as teammates in the first year of the Olympic quadrennial.
Lloyd, for her 2017 contributions, has been selected as the 2017 USA Volleyball Female Indoor Player of the Year, USA Volleyball announced Dec. 15. Lloyd is a native of Bonsall and a graduate of Fallbrook High School (class of 2007).
