SAN DIEGO COUNTY – The Department of Environmental Health will be hosting two separate one-day household hazardous waste collection events in the North County, including:
• Saturday, Jan. 6 at the Bonsall Community Center parking lot (31505 Old River Road, Bonsall), from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., especially for residents in the areas affected by the Lilac fires.
• Sunday, Jan. 21 at the Ingold Sports Park (2551 Olive Hill Road, Fallbrook), from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Unincorporated residents can bring hazardous household products labeled with “Caution, Warning, Danger, Poison, Toxic, Flammable or Corrosive” to these events for proper disposal.
Examples of household hazardous waste products include paint, automotive fluids, pesticides, aerosols, pool chemicals, household cleaners, batteries, fluorescent light tubes and CFLs, needles (sharps) and electronics.
Transportation limits are 15 gallons or 125 pounds at a time. Call 1-877-R-1-EARTH with any questions.
