Historical society to host meeting and open house, June 2

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Historical Society will hold its annual general membership meeting, 1 p.m., Saturday, June 2, in The Barn on the society's Heritage Center grounds, 1730 Hill Avenue.

The society will present its annual awards 2 p.m., when it honors Ralph Foster as "Pioneer of the Year," Del Rey Avocado Company as "Vintage Business," and Sherry Folsom as "Member of the Year." Certificates of appreciation will be awarded to

Mason Houskeeper for work with videos of oral histories and Gregory Laurance for junior docent activities.

The entire community is invited to an open house with crafts, light refreshments and family fun. Tours of the museum, the Pittenger House, the Ford Room, the Gem & Mineral Room, the Barn and outside displays will be offered until 4 p.m.
