Realtors to cleanup Fallbrook park

FALLBROOK – The North San Diego County Association of Realtors has announced its members will participate in a community service cleanup, 5-7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 17, at Jackie Heyneman Park, 502 S. Mission Road, in Fallbrook.

Organizers, including members of the NSDCAR Fallbrook District Council, said the public is invited to join the cleanup efforts. Following the cleanup, NSDCAR will host a social mixer at its Fallbrook Service Center, 126 West Beech St., in Fallbrook.

The half-acre park, at the corner of South Mission Road and West Beech Street, was developed in 1996 as the Beech Street Park by the Fallbrook Village Association. In 2012, the park was renamed after Jackie Heyneman, a 40-year Fallbrook resident and a longtime volunteer with the Fallbrook Land Conservancy and the Save Our Forest Committee. Heyneman is credited with planting many new trees and saving older ones in the community.

The park recently reopened after being closed for several months for renovations which included handicapped-accessible improvements.
