FALLBROOK – Scarecrows are back, invading Fallbrook for the seventh annual Fallbrook Scarecrow Days, Oct. 9-31. It promises to be a month of community fun and a tourist destination to the "Friendly Village." Scarecrows be will displayed around town at local businesses, residents and a mystery location, allowing visitors to take pictures and to see the scarecrows up close and personal.
The first Fallbrook Scarecrow Days was started in 2012 by three women; today it has grown to a ScaresCREW of 12. The scarecrows have multiplied as well from just a few to 111 in 2017. Visit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2o8_PCgooHg to see a video of the 2017 Scarecrow Days on YouTube.
The ScareCREW has been meeting and planning all year to create scarecrows for sale or rent. They're designing scarecrow kits for purchase and acquiring accessories for scarecrows being built by businesses, organizations and individuals. Workshops will be available Fridays through Sundays in September to build a create-your-own scarecrow.
