FALLBROOK – Fallbrook Firefighters Association is holding its eighth annual 9/11 Memorial Hill Climb Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Fallbrook Land Conservancy's Monserate Mountain Preserve.
This 5K hike honors the memories of those lost during the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Their motto is, "We climb because they climbed."
The opening ceremony will start at 7 a.m. at the preserve, 243 Horse Ranch Creek Road, Fallbrook. Registration is $50 per hiker; proceeds will benefit the family of Cory Iverson, a Cal Fire firefighter who died fighting the Thomas fire, December 2017. He lived in Escondido.
