Louie Eugene Neece passed away peacefully after a short illness Aug. 15 at the age of 95. He was preceded in death by his parents, James R. Neece and Floy Archer, his brother James and sister Floy and former wife Louise. He is survived by wife Bonnie, son Jerry Neece and daughter Karen Brooks.
Louie was born in Amarillo, Texas, on Sept. 17, 1922, and began a lifelong passion for aviation at the age of 4. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps in 1943 and after graduating from flight school, received his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant. Louie primarily flew B-24 bombers.
He graduated with a degree in accounting from UCLA and began work for Pacific Finance (now Transamerica) where he managed the installation of one of the first mainframe computers in the middle 1950s.
Upon retirement in 1978 he became an avocado grower in De Luz. After selling the grove, Louie and Bonnie moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, for several years before returning to Bonsall.
A memorial service will be held at SonRise Christian Fellowship, 463 S. Stage Coach Lane in Fallbrook, on Thursday, Aug. 30, at 10:30 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at 1 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd. in Riverside. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, a donation to your favorite charity.
