Man killed in single-car crash in Pauma Valley

PAUMA VALLEY - A man was killed on Monday, Sept. 24 in a single-vehicle crash in the Pauma Valley area.

Officers were sent shortly after 7:20 a.m. to the 32200 block of the unincorporated North County community, California Highway Patrol Officer Jim Bettencourt said.

Security personnel from the Pauma Valley Country Club, located on Pauma Valley Drive, found a man inside a Nissan pickup truck that had gone off the roadway, he said.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, Bettencourt said. His name was withheld pending family notification.

CHP officers were investigating the circumstances of the crash.
