North Korea, US say nuclear talks to resume this weekend

North Korea and the United States have agreed to resume nuclear negotiations this weekend following a monthslong stalemate over the withdrawal of sanctions in exchange for disarmament, a senior North Korean diplomat said Tuesday, Oct. 1.

Choe Son Hui, North Korea’s first vice minister of foreign affairs, said the two nations will have preliminary contact Friday, before holding working-level talks Saturday.
