Quilt guild displays its 'Hidden Treasures'

"Midnight Blues" is the work of Wendy Bean, a local quilter.

"Tula Stars" is a quilt sewn by Amanda Smith.

"Have a Notion" is a quilt by Linda Rosensteel.

"Dog Dazs," made by Donna Carter, is on display in the hall of SonRise Christian Church. The quilt show included an auction of 100 quilts, vendor booths, a country store and silent auction.

"Roll It and Sew It" is a quilted wall hanging by Mara Woods.

"Hibiscus and Heliconia," the work of quilter Irene Althaus, is one of the more than 200 handmade quilts displayed at the Fallbrook Quilt Guild's "Hidden Treasures" quilt show, Nov. 8-9.

Shopping at the Country Store are Tina Rainey, a quilter since 1997, left, and Ardis Duhachek, a quilter of 20 years. The country store features fabric, books, patterns and many more quilting supplies.

Volunteer Gloria Salazar offers white gloves to guests intending to touch the quilts on display for viewing. The gloves allow guests to lift the quilt to enjoy the backing on each quilt.

Vietnam War veteran Juergen Roesler stops to enjoy the Fallbrook Quilt Guild Home of the Brave quilt. The quilt was constructed of individual blocks made by members of the Quilt Guild. Each block highlights the life of a hero lost in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
