Fallbrook Quilt Guild announces meetings

FALLBROOK - The Fallbrook Quilt Guild invites those in the community who are interested in quilting to attend the next meeting Thursday, Oct. 7. The Guild now conducts its meetings in the afternoon on the first Thursday of the month, with doors opening at 1 p.m. and the meeting beginning at 1:30, at the Fallbrook Community Center, 341 Heald Lane.

The October program will be free to the community and features five quilters who will provide mini-lessons in different quilting techniques. Attendees will learn about Hawaiian applique, foundation paper piecing, machine applique, strip-pieced blocks, and what can be done with folded hexagons.

Several quilt-related “prizes" will be raffled, followed by a show and tell of quilts made by members. The Fallbrook Quilt Guild says, “Come check us out and get familiar with our group of fun and interesting quilters. The Guild welcomes new members of all abilities and will be focusing more programs through June 2022 that center on teaching skills. We also have programs that feature well-known quilters, and community members can attend those as a guest, paying a $10 admission fee. Please check our website every month (fallbrookquiltguild.com) to learn what program will be offered.”
