Headache medicine includes underdiagnosed, underrepresented conditions

The practice of headache medicine is vital to the health of many patients, but the specialty area is extremely complex and there are many conditions that haven't been discussed much in the media.

Dr. Deborah Friedman, neuro-ophthalmologist with UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, confirmed that. She said the general public could benefit by learning more about these conditions.

For instance, there are patients who experience continuous pain on one side of their head, experiencing a condition known as "Hemicrania Continua."
