OCEANSIDE – Nearly 300,000 people in San Diego County have a substance abuse problem. The use of fentanyl has become rampant and approximately 84% of opioid-related overdose deaths in California were related to fentanyl. It is estimated that only 1 in 10 people facing addiction seek help for recovery.

That means that of the 20.8 million people who meet the criteria for a substance abuse disorder (according to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health), only 2.2 million received treatment of any type.
