In a press release from the Fallbrook Fire Safe Council, “Chipping Day helps make Fallbrook fire safe,” published in the April 4 issue of the Village News, it misquoted John Duling as saying he lost his home in the 2002 Gavilan fire. His home did not burn but many of his neighbors lost their homes then.
