Hit and run suspect sought by authorities

A hit-and-run incident occurred Wednesday at the intersection of Old Stage Road and Pippin Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The collision, reported at 12:55 pm., did not result in any injuries.

Fallbrook Sheriffs and CHP were looking for the suspect, who was described as a Hispanic adult male with a white t-shirt and grey pants. Responding officers received information that the suspect was possibly hiding in the backyard of a residence on East Aviation Road, according to CHP dispatch records.

Law enforcement requested air support from a CHP helicopter unit, which was dispatched at approximately 1:37 p.m. A search of the residence's backyard yielded negative results, but a secondary location was searched in the 1300 block of Alturas Street in Fallbrook where the car was believed to be parked.

Traffic was restricted briefly while officers investigated, but the area was cleared by 2:05 p.m. The incident remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made at this time.

Air support was released and officers communicated that they had a good description of the suspect.

Anyone who comes into contact with the suspect is encouraged to call 9-1-1.
