Margaret Shirkey and her husband Kees Van Den Eikhof are the new owners of the Quilter's Cottage, located at 131 E. Fig Street, Suite 6. The couple was looking to start their own business, found the Quilter's Cottage for sale in November 2021 and bought it. They wanted to be their own bosses and this store was going to be the beginning of their new life. Van Den Eikhof has been a Fallbrook resident since he was 2 years old and Shirkey moved to Fallbrook in 2000 with her parents and brother. Their goals are to build up their website by increasing new products and making the public aware of new classes added to their physical store. Classes are Beginners Quilting, Garment Making, Making Cloth Bags, and Directional Fabrics, to name a few. The couple also offers classroom rentals by the day. When not working, they're home with their children, Theo who is 6 and Lena, 3 years old. When the family is all together, they love going to the beach, Padre games, and off to Grandma's house for visits.
