Robert Vernon Lindner

The Lindner family is heartbroken to announce the passing of Robert Vernon Lindner on Sept. 6,2024 in Laguna Hills, California. He was born on May 20, 1959, in Memphis, Tennessee.

Robert grew up to be a kind and generous individual, cherished by all who knew him and all he helped during his specialized nursing career in the Air Force, and then privately at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, Eisenhower Medical Center in Palm Desert and Hoag hospital in Newport Beach.

In 1970, the Lindner Family moved to Fallbrook, California where they settled. Bob graduated from Fallbrook High School in 1977 where he played varsity water polo and swam on the swim team.

Bob had numerous jobs during his lifetime from raising chickens to being a beach lifeguard in Southern Orange County. Bob went on to further his education and played water polo at UC Davis. He then graduated from Humboldt State with a degree in zoology.

From there he attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and graduated with a degree in nursing. He furthered his nursing degree at the University of New Mexico and continued his education in Minnesota specializing in wound care.

Bob then served in the US Air Force and was stationed at Travis Air Force Base in California, and finished his tour as a Captain in the Azores in Portugal. Bob was a thrill seeker, from surfing giant waves in the Azores, riding his motorcycle, to then multiple adventures in Temagami, Canada. He was an avid ocean swimmer and loved hiking and the outdoors.

He is survived by his father, Robert Joseph Lindner and his step-mother Carole M. Lindner; sister Cynthia Kaye Blake; brother Scott Michael Lindner and brother-in-law, John Blake; sister-in-law, Helen Lindner; step sister/brother Erin and Rod Hadrian; and his beloved nephews and nieces, Jack, Abbey, Maggie, Conner, Logan, and Emma.

In keeping with his wishes, no public service is planned. His ashes were scattered in the Southern California ocean. Bob's life was a testament to his profound ability to care for others. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
