Every day is Saturday now that I’m retired.
Wouldn’t ya know, just when I can finally stay up late, I can’t stay awake.
Which aligns with a lot of other things I have difficulty doing. It’s dangerous to even try to stand and put on my britches. To keep from toppling over, I now must sit and extend one leg at a time when putting anything on my lower half.
That said, on a good day, I can still stand in a yoga-tree stance. Though not for long.
Furthermore, I am well past the days when I could bounce up from the floor without using my hands. Now if I am on the floor it means I’ve fallen.
I’ve also noticed how small magazine print is.
Just when I thought I’d done all of life’s dumb things, I discovered another one. I made a $500 mistake when my cell phone overheated inside a bag while charging it overnight. Yep, had to get a new one.
I can still make change faster than the cash register.
Over the years I’ve learned the power of “no.” No is a powerful word.
I believe country music is the only real music.
Children can never get too many hugs.
Smiling at strangers reduces mistrust.
Kindness is a balm we all can use in larger doses. Have a great week ahead.
