Village News had an article by Robert Supalla about the wonders of Save Our Forest and his chat with Jackie Heyneman.
When you receive your Property Tax Bill be aware that through financial finagling you are paying an extra $2000 for Fallbrook/Del Luz nonprofits.
LAFCO decided that since we were unincorporated, the nonprofits needed a way to tax us without calling it a tax. They created a seven member rubber stamp committee and this year issued $560,000 to several nonprofits.
There were only 15 property owners who attended the "revelation" meeting at FPUD where they picked the "members" of the committee.
So if you are happy with the invasive trees and oversized pots that occlude Main Street then enjoy your property tax bill.
This year Save Our Forest members are getting older and tired, so they have outsourced the watering and care of the pots and mediums. We are paying for it – it isn't free.
Resist unelected taxes. This is just one nonprofit that we are forced to support and you will not get a tax deduction for your $2000 donation due to the clever way they inserted this into our property taxes.
