From Bonsall to Brooklyn, a 9/11 hero connection

BONSALL – Bonsall Unified School District's Interim Superintendent, Dr. Heather Golly, along with her extended family, participated in this year's Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk, an annual event honoring fallen firefighter Stephen Siller, Sept. 29.

The run retraces Siller's heroic journey on Sept. 11, 2001, when he strapped on 60 pounds of gear and ran through the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Center.

For Dr. Golly, this year's event carried deep personal significance. Her cousin, Jeffrey Olsen, also gave his life that day, battling the flames in a courageous effort to save others...
