MWD approves procurement of sleeve valve for Red Mountain Pressure Control Structure

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California board awarded a procurement contract for a sleeve valve which will be installed at MWD’s Red Mountain Pressure Control Structure.

The Oct. 8 board vote approved a $589,957 procurement contract with Vogt Valves, which is based in Texas, for the work. The amount includes California sales tax.

The MWD portion of Pipeline 5 is approximately 18 miles long between Lake Skinner in Temecula and the delivery point where the San Diego County Water Authority takes over ownership and maintenance.
