CIF adopts policy on team uniforms

Prior to the Oct. 9 CIF Board of Managers meeting, the only CIF San Diego Section policy on uniforms was that all school uniforms will be in school colors. The new policy adopts restrictions and provides clarifications.

Other than colors and numbers, official uniforms are now only allowed to include the player’s name, school name, school nickname, school mascot, and school logo. All CIF Board of Managers members present voted for the bylaw change.

“It’s really something we need to do to get back in line,” said CIF Assistant Commissioner Todd Cassen.
