On Thursday, Nov. 7, the Fallbrook Quilt Guild will host one of their always-fun meetings at the Fallbrook Community Center, 341 Heald Lane, Fallbrook. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., and the meeting begins at 1:00 p.m. Ample free parking is available.
The meeting will feature Linda Sullivan of Colourwerx, known for her raw-edge applique technique, which produces beautiful works of art. She will lecture the group on how to achieve their best machine applique stitch. Even quilters who typically avoid this technique will gain the skills needed to succeed.
To encourage attendance, the Guild has lowered the non-member admission fee to $10 for meetings featuring guest speakers. For programs showcasing a member’s skills or trunk shows, the fee is only $5. The Guild invites the public to come and learn about who they are, what they do, and how they do it. Their members span all ages, and their skill levels range from beginners to long-time quilters.
Additionally, there will be a workshop in the large board room at the Fallbrook Public Utility District from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9. Participants will create holiday stockings for children of all ages at an orphanage south of the border. The workshop location is 990 E Mission Rd, Fallbrook.
